Printable Introduces New FusionPro Products

Printable Technologies has announced FusionPro Direct, a product for automating workflows with high-volume VDP document composition. Requiring no programming to implement, FusionPro Direct accepts VDP composition requests from FusionPro Desktop (see below) and routes, schedules, and executes the document composition on a separate server. FusionPro Direct frees up designers”? workstations from document composition processing while giving users options for e-mail notification and automatic output delivery to RIP hot folders.

Printable has also introduced Version 4.0 of its FusionPro Desktop Web-to-print and variable-data product. New features include: a user interface redesign; a “VDP Workflow Pallet”? designed for users unfamiliar with VDP workflow; a variable frames layers pallet, imposition enhancements, and new typesetting controls; the addition of 2D barcodes such as Databatrix and PDF417; Quark 7 support on Mac and Windows; and logic definition interfaces that reduce the reliance on JavaScript. FusionPro Desktop 4.0 price: $399.

And the company has introduced a beta program for its new FusionPro Live. This product provides a point-and-click VDP template-editing capability as an add-on to the FusionPro Server application. FusionPro Desktop templates can be uploaded to the FusionPro Live server with settings to allow editing of the contents of selected variable frames by the end user, or an unlimited number of concurrent users.
