Following beta tests at graphics firms in Europe and the US, Nur Macroprinters has begun shipping the Tempo flatbed.

Itay Shalit, director of marketing at Nur Macroprinters notes that “The Nur Tempo is not the first flatbed inkjet press to reach the market, but we believe it's the first with the right combination of features to realistically address the needs of screen printers.”

The Tempo can switch between 4- and 8-color sets of UV-curable inks and features a 10 1/2- x 6 1/2-ft table for printing to rigid substrates. Options include a roll-to-roll printing mechanism and feeding and stacking systems. The machine's fully encapsulated construction is designed to ensure a comfortable working environment.

In North America, the Tempo will list for $500,000. The optional roll-feed mechanism is available for $50,000. Nur Spirit? U inks are priced at $110/liter.

At the SGIA show in October in Atlanta, the Tempo will be shown as a companion to Nur's 4- or 8-color 16-ft. wide Nur Ultima HiQ 5000 and the 10.5-ft. Nur Fresco HiQ 3200 production-speed solvent-system inkjets. (NUR Macroprinters: www.nur.com)
