Delcam has announced new 2010 versions of its ArtCam family of software for signmaking and other graphics applications, including ArtCam Express for users new to CNC machining, ArtCam Insignia for production machining, and ArtCam Pro for more complex design and manufacturing. New features are many, including:

• A new interface that can be customized by the user for optimum productivity. Each user can set up the software to provide quicker access to the most frequently used commands; commands that are rarely used can be hidden;

• The ability to use many more commands on the 3D model directly, allowing direct editing in the 3D window;

• Improvements to the sculpting tools, allowing users to produce virtually any shape;

• The incorporation of technology from Delcam’s PowerMill CAM system, including multi-threading technology for faster calculation times; and 

• More automation has been introduced when machining designs are imported as layered DXF or PDF files from other CAD systems (Insignia and Pro only).
