Mutoh America introduced its ValueJet 1628T (64 inches) and ValueJet 2628T (100 inches) aqueous printers, intended for soft-signage printing, including banners, flags, P-O-P displays, fine art, and more. The printers can accommodate polyester fabrics as well as dye-sublimation paper.

The 1628T/2628T employs a new printhead well suited for direct printing onto polyester fabrics, and also includes Mutoh’s Intelligent Interweaving (I²) “wave” Printing Technique, aimed at eliminating banding. The new printers offer print resolutions up to 720 dpi and top speeds of 447 square feet/hour (draft quality; 154 square feet/hour in production mode).

The machines are available in 4, 6, or 8 colors (CMYKcmOG), with inks in 220-ml cartridges or in a bulk-ink system.

An optional take-up system is available.

The ValueJet 1628T/2628T will ship in February 2010, Mutoh reports. Pricing has yet to be set.
