Sakata Inx has announced that it will acquire a majority interest in Megaink Digital, which is based in the Czech Republic. As a member of INX Digital, the digital arm of INX International Ink (global supplier for Sakata Inx), Megaink Digital will continue to offer customers digital-ink products and services for wide and super-wide format printing.

'Megaink Digital will strengthen our ability to service digital printing operations worldwide,' says Rick Clendenning, INX International president and CEO, 'particularly in rapidly growing areas such as Eastern Europe, the Americas, Africa, and the Middle East where Mega Digital has established a strong presence in the six years since the company was founded.'

'This joint venture with INX International will be very beneficial to our customer base-not only with additional distribution and support, but with added product development and resources available through Sakata Inx,' says Andrej Keblusek, managing director of Megaink Digital.

Megaink recently introduced BioMG inks, a renewable resource-based ink, which syncs with INX's green product development and sustainability initiatives. 'Responsible environmental stewardship has been part of the culture of both organizations, and it will continue to play an increased role moving forward,' says Clendenning.

INX International, which specializes ink systems for commercial printing, packaging, and digital-print processes, purchased digital-ink company Triangle Digital in 2006 and printer manufacturer Innovation Solutions in 2007.
