Inca Digital Printers has introduced the Inca Onset S20i wide-format UV flatbed inkjet printer, which supersedes the former Onset S20 and follows the launch of the Onset S40i earlier this year.

The Onset S20i boasts a full-width printhead array with 26 individual Fujifilm Dimatix printheads per color, providing users with production speeds up to 3340 sq ft/hr, Inca reports. Available in two color configurations – CMYKcm or CMYK + white – the S20i uses an enhanced range of Fujifilm Uvijet inks engineered to provide improved adhesion, stability, and finishing properties, the company reports. It can accommodate materials up to 63 x 123.6 in. and 2-in. thick (0.4-in. thick using automation). Top resolution is 1000 dpi.

New feature highlights of the Inca Onset S20i include:
• Multi-zone vacuum table: A new 15-zone vacuum table to reduce bed masking requirements for substrates less than 3-mm thick, reduce setup times, and increase flexibility.
• UV sensor system: A new auto-sensor system constantly monitors the UV dose and informs the operator when to initiate the S20i’s automated cleaning procedure.
• Substrate-height detector: A sensitive mechanical substrate-height detector delivers consistent accuracy and reliability.

The Onset S20i is also available with an optional flexible automation system, giving users the choice to operate the machine manually or with semi- or three-quarter automation from the same configuration. And the S20i supports Inca’s Print Run Controller (PRC) software module (optional), for those users wanting to incorporate variable data printing.

Current Inca Onset S20 users can have some of the features on the S20i fitted to their machine, the company reports.

The Onset S20i will be commercially available in October; Fujifilm is the exclusive distributor.
