Ilford (ilford.com) previewed one new product and one new technology for the sign and display market within its Omnijet family: Ilford Omnijet Trans and Ilford Omnijet NanoSolvent.

Ilford Omnijet Trans is an inkjet alternative to traditional backlit silver-halide products developed for use with all wide-format aqueous printers. Designed for quality imaging even in dense black areas and skin tones, Omnijet Trans is ideal for use in the latest generation of backlit display devices, Ilford reports. Available in 131-ft length rolls and in 4- and 5-ft width rolls to match traditional silver halide measurements.

Ilford Omnijet NanoSolvent is a new layer that Ilford will coat onto a variety of PVC-free substrates, including clear and translucent film and pop-up display, self-adhesive, and banner printing materials. Ilford Omnijet NanoSolvent versions of its Omnijet photo papers will also be available. The NanoSolvent layer offers quick printing and drying speed, says Ilford, and will increase productivity with solvent and eco-solvent printing. Available in 24-, 36-, 42-, and 54-in. widths.

Ilford Omnijet Trans will be available early this year; Omnijet NanoSolvent will be rolled out in the first half of 2013.
