Ilford Imaging USA Restructuring

Ilford Imaging USA reports that it is restructuring while continuing to conduct business. In late August, Ilford Imaging UK Limited, the Ilford affiliate responsible for the manufacture of black-and-white photographic products, announced that it had filed for insolvency, and was set to split its UK and Swiss businesses and sell them (the Swiss operation develops and manufactures digital inkjet products). Production in the Ilford UK plant has resumed following a brief period of shutdown.

“In order to maintain solvency and thereby continue to service our customers, a significant decrease in our operating costs was mandatory,” says Ward Phillips, Ilford Imaging USA president. “The principle area where this was possible was in personnel. As previously stated, Ilford Imaging USA is solvent and our doors are open for business.”

Ilford Imaging USA sells, among other products, Studio turnkey systems based around the Epson 7600 and 9600 printers, as well as the Ilford Galerie Professional Inkjet photo papers in sheets and rolls.
