The members of Idealliance and Epicomm have approved a merger by the associations’ respective boards. The members “voted overwhelmingly,” according to a release, after taking part in virtual meetings explaining the move.

The associations plan to finalize the merge by July 1; the new organization will retain the name Idealliance and inhabit the current Epicomm headquarters in Alexandria, Virginia.

“From business and technical best practices and consulting to government advocacy, certification, training, and educational events, as a combined and unified association we will be better able to more fully serve the total industry supply chain. This includes marketers and publishers to providers of print, mailing, fulfillment, packaging, and content, as well as information delivery services,” says Ken Garner, current president and CEO of Epicomm.

Garner will take the role of executive VP after the merge. Other leadership adjustments include:

• Tim Johnson, current Epicomm board chairman, will serve as chairman;
• Dick Ryan, current Idealliance vice chairman of the board, will serve as vice chairman;
• Wayne Marshall, current Epicomm secretary-treasurer, will serve as treasurer;
• Dino Pagliarello, current Idealliance secretary, will serve as secretary;
• And David Steinhardt, current Idealliance president and CEO, will retain his role.
