The Z3200, available in 24- and 44-inch versions and featuring a new HP 73 Chromatic Red ink, is designed for fine artists as well as print providers and service bureaus.

The Z3200 features 12 HP Vivera pigment inks with HP QuadBlack inkset (MYcm + Photo Black + Matte Black + Blue + Green + Chromatic Red + Gray + Light Gray + Gloss Enhancer), an embedded X-Rite spectrophotometer, HOP DreamColor Technologies, and an enhanced HP Color Center tool for easier calibration and profiling tasks. The new HP 73 Chromatic Red is designed to provide a broader color gamut, and the printer can emulate 95 percent of Pantone colors, HP reports.

Capable of a resolution of 2400 x 1200 dpi, the Z3200 can achieve a top speed of 2 minutes/page for an A1 (23 x 33 inches) color image on coated paper in Draft mode and 12.4 minutes/page for that size on glossy paper in Best Print mode. It can handle media up to 0.8-mm thick.

Other features include Gloss Enhancer, Optical Drop Detector (to prevent nozzle clogging and reduce ink/media waste), an Embedded Web Server, and an embedded Adobe PS3/PDF RIP.

Price: $3395, 24-inch version ($4695 with embedded RIP and HP/X-Rite Advanced Profiling Solution); $5595, 44-inch version ($6795 with embedded RIP and Profiling Solution).
