HP reports that it will make new low-solvent inks for the HP Designjet 8000, 9000, and 10000 Printer series available early this year. Its HP 781 and 791 inks will replace HP 780 and HP 790, and are designed to provide reliable performance; ease of use; and vivid, durable prints for producing high-impact signage and outdoor graphics, HP reports.

The new products were developed specifically for the company’s low-solvent printers and because the new inks are compatible with the old inks, existing owners of Designjet 8000, 9000, or 10000 series printers can change over to the new cartridges as necessary; there’s no need to replace the printheads. Customers can also use current HP 780 and HP 790 cleaning and maintenance supplies with the new inks.

Prints produced with the new HP 781 and 791 inks achieve up to three years of display permanence without lamination and are scratch-, smear-, and crack-resistant, says HP.
