Epson America has expanded its line of professional proofing media thorough its Epson Professional Imaging division. The expanded portfolio now includes Standard Proofing Paper (205) and (240), Proofing Paper White Semimatte, Proofing Paper Commercial, Standard Proofing Paper Adhesive, Crystal Clear Proofing Film, and Proofing Paper Publication.

All of the papers are optimized for use with Epson inks, including new Epson UltraChrome HDR ink technology, and are designed to provide superior color accuracy and stability for general proofing, composition, and contract proofing. Several of the papers also are being certified to adhere to GRACoL and SWOP specifications (with ColorBurst RIP; further approvals for other third-party RIPs are in progress, Epson reports).

The new proofing papers are available in a range of sizes, finishes, and weights and are optimized to address specific needs for a range of proofing applications, including matching color-critical commercial offset press applications for brochures, collateral, book covers, and posters, as well as publication proofing applications, including newspaper and magazine images.

The Epson Standard Proofing Paper, Proofing Paper White Semimatte, Proofing Paper Commercial, and Proofing Paper Publication are currently available; the Standard Proofing Paper Adhesive and Crystal Clear Proofing Film will be available in January 2009.
