Mimaki has introduced its Eco-HS1 ink. The high-solvent, low-odor ink prevents media shrinkage (especially thin self-adhesive PVC) due to solvent migration and is designed to provide enhanced color reproduction with its improved magenta and new light black offerings.

The Eco-HS1 ink features no toxic ingredients, a reduced odor to the same level as the company's SS21 mild-solvent inks, and smoother gradients with its updated colors. UV and water resistance have also been enhanced.

Applications for the Eco-HS1 inks include fleet graphics, where prints are exposed to intensive mechanical stress or abrasion.

The company also has introduced new SB51 aqueous dye-sub inks. For use with its JV5 series, the SB51 inks feature an improved color density (especially in black), a fast drying time with less bleeding, and improved wash- and crock-fastness.
