Aslan New Wide-Format Films

Three new wide-format films offered.

Aslan has announced three new wide-format films. The 54-in. WrapTheBase ASLAN DFP 48 PVC floor graphic film is designed for smooth indoor floor applications. MagicProtect Matt ASLAN SL 99 PVC laminate features a matte coating designed to protect against paint, varnishes, dirt, graffiti, and more. The laminate is compatible with smooth and rough surfaces with up to three years of outdoor durability. Offered in widths of 54 in.

Holographic ASLAN SE 72 silver self-adhesive polyester film features a holographic effect engineered to shimmer rainbow colors with no repeat pattern. With outdoor durability up to three years, the film is designed for smooth and flat surfaces, such as P-O-P displays and event graphics, and is compatible with latex and UV-curing inks. Available in 40-in.

• Crystal Cling (SS299): 4-mil gloss clear removable PET film with 3-mil polyester traction back release liner for short- to medium-term applications on glass surfaces including windows, displays, and more; compatible with UV and latex printers
• Print Friendly Opaque (SS129): 2.3-mil gloss white permanent block-out top-coated PP film featuring 50# bleach glassine liner for medium-term signage on glass surfaces; engineered for UV inkjet printing
• White Magic Cling (SS99; gloss white) and Clear Magic Cling (SS29; gloss clear): 2-mil removable, soft, flexible PP media with 90# poly-coated layflat liner designed to cling to glossy plastic, shiny metal, and smooth glass surfaces such as windows, office doors, and display cases; compatible with UV inkjet and latex presses

Agfa Entry-Level Hybrid Press

Epson has announced the SureColor V7000 UV flatbed engineered for outputting outdoor signage, promotional products, and more. Featuring a 4 x 8-ft bed, the entry-level press offers automated thickness adjustment and can image rigid substrates up to 3.14-in. thick, including wood, metal, foamboard, acrylic, and glass.

Additional features include: 10-color UltraChrome UV ink, including red, gray, white, and varnish; eight MicroPiezo printheads designed to produce color or three-layer prints with variable droplet technology for low graininess and smooth gradations; white ink circulation system; pin registration system for simplified loading and media alignment; multi-zone vacuum system; Epson Edge Print workflow software; built-in ionizer; and more.

Canon UV-LED Flatbed Printers

Canon has released the Arizona 2300 Series of flatbed printers, including three 49 x 98-in. 2300 Series GTF configurations reaching speeds of 958 sq ft/hr and three 121 x 98-in. 2300 Series XTF configurations with speeds up to 1023 sq ft/hr.

The series is designed with Flow technology, a vacuum technique supporting zoneless, multi-origin table layout with easy-to-use, three-sided pneumatic registration pins for added productivity, edge-to-edge and double-sided printing, and ability to print on odd-shaped, heavy, smooth, or precut media up to 2 in. thick including canvas, wood, and glass, the company reports.

Additional features include automated maintenance system, high-res camera alignment system, optional Arizona Xpert smart workflow automation software, VariaDot printhead technology with high-key print mode and pixel placement compensation, roll media option (compatible with thin, heat-sensitive media up to 87 in. wide) with instant switching between roll-to-roll and flatbed printing, optional static suppression upgrade kit for imaging hard plastics, optional Touchstone textured printing software, UV-LED instant-on printing, and more.
