Argraph, a supplier of photographic/imaging products, now distributes Arches Infinity museum-quality fine-art paper for aqueous inkjets. The 100% cotton paper is suitable for fine-art printmaking with either pigmented or dye inks.

“Arches Infinity is the legendary Arches cold press and hot press paper with a proprietary coating. The distinctive texture, pleasing hand, and aesthetic beauty of the paper have been retained,” states Jeffrey Neumann, product manager for Arches North America.

According to Arches North America, the inkjet-receptive Infinity works well with pigments, and can hold a heavier ink load without mottling. It will accept coverage of up to 400% with repeatable accuracy and minimal dot gain.

The paper has been beta test on Epson, Roland, Iris, and ColorSpan printers, using both OEM and aftermarket inks. Onsite tests were done at Nash Editions and Hunter Editions. In addition, Arches' own tests, using a HPUVO Actinic Light Exposure Unit, indicated that images output with Arches Infinity paper with selected pigmented inks will last more than 100 years before considerable fading occurs. The HPUV test chamber uses cool-white and filtered fluorescent lights to simulate the indoor lighting conditions found in commercial office buildings, hotels and residences.

Infinity papers are available in 230 and 355 gsm weights, in smooth and textured finishes, in bright-white and natural-white, and in sheet sizes from 8 1/2 x 11 in. to 34 x 47 in. and in rolls from 24- to 50-in. wide. The coated papers are free of optical brighteners that can cause the papers to yellow over time.
