Aurora Specialty Textiles Group now offers Act II fabric, the first style in the company’s Weave of Green fabrics line. Woven by Southern Industrial Fabrics, the Act II fabric is composed of 100-percent post-consumer recycled polyester-the fiber source is recycled plastic drink bottles.

Act II is a plain weave, 7.5-oz fabric with canvas-like texture. It’s been scoured and heat set for dye-sub printing, but can also be used with direct, UV-cure digital printing. Available in 60- and 120-in. widths. Aurora is the exclusive reseller of the fabrics into the graphic-arts market.

Aurora also has launched its “Full Circle” polyester-fabric recycling program. The company takes back printed and scrap polyester fabrics from its customers; these fabrics are accumulated, baled, and recycled into products such as carpet padding and insulation.
