Wrap Pros Host Business Boot Camp at ISA Sign Expo 2019

Justin Pate of the Wrap Institute and John Duever of Vinyl Images & Design will help wrap professionals build their businesses for long-term success at the Business Boot Camp for Wrap Professionals by Avery Dennison. The day-long event is part of the pre-conference at ISA International Sign Expo 2019.

 Pate, regarded as the world’s foremost authority on graphic installation, said the event is aimed at businesses of all sizes. “The printing and installation part of the wrap world can be a lot of fun. The challenging part is the business side as it can be quite tricky when compared to regular businesses,” he said. “This event will help create a strong business formula and provide clear solutions to overcome the challenges.”

He and Duever are a perfect team. “We’re both world-class installers yet we come from different angles of the wrap business.  John runs a business with his brother and sister that has more than 20 employees,” Pate said. “I have always been a freelance-installer. These angles mesh together in a way that allows us to cover just about anything an installer or wrap shop would encounter.”

Duever, president of Vinyl Images & Design, said the opportunities in graphic installation are significant—especially for printers who already have “the necessary equipment to take the leap. It’s a matter of finding the right direction to go. The market is growing and most sign and graphics companies have clientele who are getting wraps and graphics. They’re just not using their sign company for it.”

The day-long Business Boot Camp is designed for companies and freelancers at all skill levels, from the most experienced to those just starting. Both Duever and Pate use their experiences and expertise to offer systems and concrete steps that any business can apply.

 “If you’re going to come to this class, I recommend you bring at least one other person from your business,”  Duever said. “What you will remember is not what your installer will remember. If you bring at least two people, you will go back to the office, compare notes and develop a solid game plan going forward.”

The Business Boot Camp for Wrap Professionals will be held Tuesday, April 23, at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas.
