WP Digital, formed when Swiss manufacturer Wifag Polytype acquired L&P Digital Technologies (USA) and Spuhl Digital Printing (Switzerland) from Leggett & Platt in 2008, has announced that it will now also be exclusively selling in the US and Canada the Oryx UV flatbed printer produced by SwissQprint.
 
According to the SwissQprint website, the Oryx can hit 409 square feet/hour in draft mode (129 square feet/hour in production mode). CMYKcm+white is standard (varnish and/or spot colors optional), as is a Caldera RIP. The printer can accommodate media up to 98 inches wide and 2 inches thick. It has a roll-media option.

A demo and service center for the Oryx will be available to customers and interested persons in Mahwah, New Jersey, beginning in January 2010, WP Digital reports.
