The Specialty Graphic Imaging Association (SGIA) has made available two new publications: 2005 Guide to Digital Imaging and The Digital Print Sales System.

The 2005 Guide to Digital Imaging, by the staff of the Digital Printing & Imaging Association (DPI), is designed to cover everything a digital-imaging novice, veteran, or client needs to know about the digital-imaging marketplace, its relevant equipment, and materials. Chapters include “Color and Its Management,” “Digital Imaging Equipment,” “Media,” “Finishing,” “Safety and Environmental Concerns,” and “Making Digital Imaging Work.” In addition, the 122-pg. book includes extensive tables on wide-format and narrow-format printers as well as a glossary of digital-imaging terms. Price: $24.95.

In The Digital Print Sales System, author Terry Nagi's goal is to present some of the prime selling techniques and an effective selling system to aid the sales representative overcome the challenges of selling digital print work. Rather than simply presenting abstract concepts; Nagi provides useful, specific information on topics such as: finding and connecting with prime prospects; creating a prospecting system; sample scripts and letters; making a first digital sales call; creating a digital marketing plan; and more. 170 pg.
