Serica, a screen-printing company in Nancy, France is the first to test Scitex Vision's VEEjet wide-format digital flatbed system. The four-color VEEjet uses VisionInk's UV-curable UV100 Supreme inks to print on rigid and flexible substrates up to 1.5-in. thick, with an image size of up to 6.5 x 10 ft.

The system was developed to help screen- and digital-printing companies supply products for P-O-P displays, exhibitions, indoor and outdoor signage, and building coverings. The VEEjet can image on almost any substrate from PVC, cardboard, aluminum, wood, glass and ceramics to banners, self-adhesive vinyl, and paper.

“The machine is even equipped to handle heavy and fragile substrates,” notes Bernard Petit, Serica's Technical Director. “This presents practically unlimited business opportunities for us.”

Established in 1970, Serica employs about 150 people. The VEEjet is Serica's second piece of Scitex digital-printing equipment. The company also owns a Scitex Vision XLjet roll-to-roll superwide inkjet. Scitex Vision is a developer and manufacturer of digital printing presses and consumables.
