Screen USA has introduced two new options for its Truepress Jet2500UV printer: a multi-layer option and a corrugated option. The new multiple-layer function allows the Jet2500UV to print up to seven image layers without feeding the media a second time. This further improves the Truepress Jet2500UV’s versatility and increases its ability to print double-sided window stickers and day-and-night backlit displays, along with various special effects, such as embossed graphics, the company reports. The new corrugated cardboard guide option is a secure substrate-fixing system enabling reliable transport of media, making it possible to print directly onto hard-to-handle substrates. This ensures that corrugated board and other media that have a tendency to warp or curl at the edges stay completely flat while traveling through the machine.

The company also added new models to its Truepress Jet520 inkjet web press printing system: the Truepress Jet520ZZ and the Truepress Jet520EX Color. The Truepress Jet520ZZ, designed to be the flagship of the Truepress Jet520 series, offers a top speed of 721.7 ft/min and can produce direct mail, books, magazines, and other high-volume work traditionally printed on offset machines. The press offers a maximum resolution of 720 dpi; the grayscale printheads produce an apparent resolution of 1440 dpi. The Jet520ZZ handles rolls of inkjet paper, standard paper, uncoated paper, and matte and gloss coated stock up to 22.4-in. wide. It’s equipped with the Equios workflow RIP. The Jet520EX Color is designed to meet the needs of businesses considering a move from monochrome to color variable printing, as well as those that mainly handle short-run work. Featuring a compact footprint, it delivers full-color variable printing at a maximum speed of 210 ft/min at a resolution of 360 dpi.
