SGIA (www.sgia.org) has released its 2015 benchmarking report for graphics installers, a survey composed of 46 installation companies. Twenty-eight percent of these companies also provide printing services, and the median amount of time spent in business is nearly 17 years.

Most companies reported installing a wide range of applications; even the least-served area, wallpaper installation, was still a service provided by nearly two-thirds of survey respondents. The most highly served installation area was buildings from street level to 20 feet high; sidewalk applications followed closely. Zero companies saw a decline in demand for vehicle wraps.

Participants reported a general trend of growth and optimism: Nearly three-fourths of companies saw increased sales, 60 percent saw increased production, and half had hired additional staff. Three-fourths of respondents reported positive confidence in the installation industry; 52 percent felt similarly about the US economy. Median sales growth was almost 19 percent.
