Graphic Communication Institute Offers Array of Digital Workshops

The Graphic Communication Institute, located on the campus of Cal Poly State University in San Luis Obispo, CA, is offering a host of workshops for the printing and imaging industries throughout the remainder of 2004. All workshops are geared toward a hands-on format, and include (listed here by month):

August 4-6: Digital Proofing, presented by Brian Lawler, consultant; August 11-13: Digital Workflows for Publishers, presented by Hal Hinderliter, GrCI Director; August 18-20: Implementing CTP, presented by Hal Hinderliter.

September 1-3: Graphics Bootcamp for Business Users, presented by Hal Hinderliter; September 8-10: QuarkXPress for Print Production, presented by Hal Hinderliter; September 15-17: Printing Industry Overview, presented by Hal Hinderliter; September 22-24: Selling, Marketing & Producing Digital Print, presented by Frank Kanonik, consultant; September 29-Oct 1: Photoshop & Digital Photography, presented by Patti Russotti, Rochester Institute of Technology.

October 13-15: Adobe InDesign for Print Production, presented by Lorraine Donegan, Cal Poly; October 20-22: Adding Mailing & Fulfillment Services, presented by Clint Bolte, consultant; October 27-29: Illustrator and Freehand, presented by Sandee Cohen, author and trainer

November 3-5: Adobe Acrobat for PDF & PDF/X, presented by Hal Hinderliter; November 8-10: Estimating & Costing for Print, presented by Phil Ruggles, Cal Poly (also featuring noted consultant David Dodd and Cal Poly prof Malcolm Keif); November 17-19: Color Management, presented by Lou Prestia, consultant; November 22-24: XSLT for Multi-Channel Publishing, presented by Hal Hinderliter.

December 1-3: Digital Proofing, presented by Brian Lawler, consultant; December 8-10: Digital Workflows for Publishers, presented by Hal Hinderliter; December 15-17: Implementing CTP, presented by Hal Hinderliter.

All workshops are held on the Cal Poly State campus. Most workshops offer 1-, 2-, and 3-day options. Prices range from $299 to $729. (Graphic Communication Institute: www.grci.calpoly.edu)
