GMG has introduced version 5.2 of its GMG ColorProof. Version 5.2 incorporates the integration of Adobe PDF Print Engine 2.5 and improvements to the SpotColor Editor (including the ability to export a report showing spot colors, listing the spot-color name, CMYK values, and target/current values). Version 5.2 is also compatible with the new GMG ProofControl Inline module, which allows for fully automated proofing and verification of contone proofs on Epson Stylus Pro printers with an integrated measuring device (initially the 4900, 7900, 9900, 7890, and 9890 models). Verification results can be seen within ColorProof, while measurement results of several GMG ColorProof 5.2 installations can be stored in one central database. If proof verification fails, the printer is automatically re-calibrated.

GMG also has announced the availability of the GMG print driver for the Roland VersaUV LEC-330 UV-LED inkjet printer/cutter, providing a solution for creating color-accurate mockups. As a result, GMG reports, the LEC-330, with the help of GMG ColorProof or GMG FlexoProof, can create color-accurate proofs and mockups directly on the substrate they’ll be printed on. And the company showcased its new GMG SmartProfiler, a wizard-based profiling application designed to enable users to easily calibrate, recalibrate, and profile a wide variety of output devices.
