With the launch of ER2 Image Group’s Applied Surfaces Collection, the Hanover Park, Illinois-based print shop had the opportunity to present to some of the internal branding and sourcing employees at InnerWorkings, a global marketing execution firm serving Fortune 500 brands across a wide range of industries. During the meeting, ER2 learned of a new global branding initiative and the need for a redesigned workspace. 

“The most remarkable part of this project is that we utilized every department, print technology, and creative services capability we have to offer, and then some,” says Jason Dillas, director of national sales. “From latex to UV, dye-sub and custom painted elements … our entire crew helped create this space.”

The entrance of InnerWorkings’ interior offices in Chicago features four 60 x 84-inch SEG frames/fabrics that “really set off the space as clean and sophisticated – giving an art gallery feel,” says Matt Blackmar, account executive. The shop also manufactured a 40 x 40-inch high gloss acrylic, halo, and face-lit dimensional logo behind the reception desk and a simple, dimensional cut square icon of the company’s logo painted blue and mounted against a black feature wall in the waiting area. “Another simplistic element that complemented the sleek feel,” Blackmar says. 

ER2 covered, touched, and branded every space within the office, including wallcoverings, window films, SEG frames, and custom illuminated elements.

“InnerWorkings was wonderful in the sense that they were so willing and open to our suggestions on how to produce each application, allowing us to mix in combinations of flat wall applications along with dimensional elements,” Blackmar says.

The end goal was to have a space that reflects InnerWorkings in 2019 and beyond. In the end, ER2 Image Group created a “beautiful functional space,” Dillas says. “The reaction from the client was fantastic.”
