DxO, producer of image/RAW processing software, has released its Optics Pro 2.2. This new version offers support for the Canon EOS-1Ds Mark II digital camera, as well as support for the new Adobe Digital Negative (DNG) file format.

In addition, the pricing structure has been simplified. DxO now offers either a standard or elite version. The standard version ($139) is for “expert amateur” cameras; the elite version ($219) is for professional D-SLRs. The DxO RAW Engine, previously priced as an option, is now included in both versions of Optics Pro. DxO Optics Pro 2.2 is a free upgrade for all current DxO Optics users.

DxO also will soon be adding DxO Lighting and DxO Noise to its products and solutions. DxO Lighting will add light to shadow areas and correct tone variations. DxO Noise will perform automatic noise removal on digital images, the company reports. (DXO Labs: www.dxo.com)
