Dust Off a Dormant Idea, Name a Champion, and Make It Happen

It’s the secret formula for getting things done: one idea, one champion, one deadline.

Monthly Project: Activate One Big Idea

  1. Review your team’s past brainstorming notes and identify one promising idea that never got off the ground. Don’t overthink — just pick one that feels doable. (One example: Creating a “Before & After” gallery for recent sign makeovers on your website.)
  2. Nominate an “idea champion” to take the lead. This person doesn’t need to be the expert — just someone who believes in the idea and has the energy to drive it forward.
  3. Define the project goal, rough timeline, and checkpoints. Give your champion weekly check-ins and the authority to ask for help.
  4. Support their work visibly — in meetings, emails, and your own follow-through.
  5. Celebrate a visible result by month’s end.
