Capture One Supports Intel-based Macs and New SLRs

Increases capture rate and processing speed.




Phase One has updated its RAW workflow
image-processing software”?Capture
One”?to support Intel-based Mac computers.
In addition, the software now supports
new digital camera systems.

The newest version”?Capture One
3.7.4″?is a Universal Mac application
designed to run natively on both Intel-
and PowerPC-based Mac computers.
Initial Phase One tests show that the
capture rate has increased by up to 40%
with version 3.7.4 on an Intel-based Mac;
processing RAW files is 15% faster on
Intel-based and PowerPC-based Macs.
Windows users also will increase capture
rate and RAW processing speed with version
3.7.4. Initial tests show capture rate
increases up to 200% with the improved
high-speed capture option in the Capture
One software; the company also reports
a 10% increase in the processing speed
of RAW files.

In addition, version 3.7.4 now supports
RAW files from the Canon EOS 30D,
Pentax *ist series, and Sony DSC-R1 systems,
as well as Phase One P 45, P 30,
and P 21 camera backs. Version 3.7.4
allows tethered shooting with the P 21
and RAW processing of 52-MB TIFF files;
the Pro version 3.7.4 also provides for
tethered and RAW file support for all
Canon EOS cameras.

Capture One 3.7.4 is a free update for
existing customers.

Phase One also is offering its “See the
Difference”? roadshow seminar series.
