Agfa Graphics has introduced the Anapurna H2500i LED hybrid printer, featuring air-cooled UV-LED curing. The company reports this alternative method to mercury lamp-curing technology will allow PSPs to image a broader range of media, save energy, and increase productivity.

With eight 12-pL Konica Minolta printheads, the H2500i prints at up to 1238 sq ft/hr. The machine’s white ink functions include pre-, post-, spot, and sandwich white ink imaging, and the separate white ink system offers circulation, under-pressure regulation, a cleaning circuit, and stirring mechanism. The H2500i also features a CMYKcm configuration with an automatic ink refilling system.

The new LED lamps reportedly offer a lifetime of 5 years and have no warmup or cooldown time. They are also said to enable printing on heat-sensitive media such as thin styrene. Other applications include banners, tradeshow graphics, P-O-P, back- and frontlit signage, fine art, DVDs, wood, beer coasters, ceramics, interior décor, and more.

Additional features include a reinforced belt drive and shuttle beam; shuttle safety sensors; an ionization bar on either side of the carriage to remove electrostatic charges; borderless printing; a media registration bar; printhead height adjustment; a four-zone automatically controlled vacuum system; and a swivel-arm touch screen.

An optional automatic board feeder offers volume printing of up to five small boards at a time.
