In our social media-driven world, what’s a gorgeous wedding without top-notch photos and videos to document the day? Even before the dawn of Instagram and Pinterest, wedding photo albums have been a treasured staple in many married couples’ homes. (I can remember flipping through my parents’ album as a kid, admiring the ‘90s styles and giggling at how young all my relatives looked.)
Ninety percent of couples hire a photographer, like Fresno, California-based Pamela Leeds, to capture their nuptials. For Leeds, a wedding and family photographer, the hassle, time, and cost associated with outsourcing photo prints got to be too much, so she invested in a Canon imagePrograf Pro-2000 large-format printer for her studio – cutting her outsourcing costs by 75 percent in the first six months.
Leeds, who also shoots on a Canon camera, now images customized banners, posters, and matte and canvas prints from the comfort of her own photography studio – decking out her workspace in gorgeous wedding prints along the way. She’s able to print photos up to 24 x 70 inches in-house, turning them over to clients within a day or two. “Not only does bringing print in-house help cut costs, but the output from the Pro-2000 printer is far better than the lab we were outsourcing from,” Leeds adds.
