Next Time an Employee Says Perfection Is Impossible, Say This

“We expect 100-percent accuracy from our airline pilot. Our customers expect 100-percent accuracy, as well.”

when to use it: Oregon print pro David Kaiser uses this saying to inspire his production staff to go above and beyond to avoid errors. “It’s a saying I learned from working at an office job in college days,” says Kaiser. “My manager encouraged 100-percent accuracy and, of course, we would chide him that 100-percent accuracy was impossible. To which he would say that we expect 100-percent accuracy from our airline pilot.” Kaiser’s business now uses the saying on a large poster hanging in its production area.
