Balance. This is the “active” word in my mind. One of the things I’ve really learned in my active lifestyle and career is maintaining a healthy balance day-to-day. Family, career, health, and joy. These are the pillars that drive how I structure my time. I thrive on structure and routine. I like to start my days with something active. I always feel more productive after a jump start for my body and brain.
I spend my days keeping the gears churning at the ER2 office and my nights are reserved for family. My wife Heather and I like to plan and prepare dinners together. I try my best to give the same effort and attention to the time with my family as I would in creating a discussion topic for our leadership team at our monthly managers’ meetings or preparing a sales pitch for a new product with a client.
When I first started in the family business, I was only 11 years old. I started at the shop weeding vinyl, designing signs and vehicle graphics, installing street signs and learning anything else I could to contribute. 32 years later, my roles here have changed dramatically, but I still learn every day, love what I do, have pride in what we’ve built, and love the people I work with.
