When she isn’t travelling between the four facilities she supports (Florida, Kansas, Utah, and Wisconsin) Elaine spends much of her time on the water with her two dogs, Jake and Otis. “They were raised from puppies to be comfortable on the boat and in the water, and they get as excited about spending a day out on the bay as I do,” she says. “If we aren’t in the boat, we are in the pool.”
When she is not on the water, Elaine can often be found watching a game. “My love for sports goes back to my youth in Ohio, where I was raised on Buckeyes!” she says. “Through the years and the various places I have travelled to, I have always made it a point to attend games at sports venues wherever I happen to be. It doesn’t matter who is playing, I just love seeing the different stadiums!”
Elaine tries to make it back to Ohio as often as she can to visit family and spend time with her great niece and nephew, “who like coming to Florida much more than me visiting Ohio,” she says. Closer to home, you might find her biking around the neighborhood or, as she puts it, “hacking my way around 18 holes.”
“We are 24/7 facilities, so while I can’t totally disconnect on the weekends, enjoying as many of the above-mentioned activities as possible allows me to recharge mentally to hit the ground running come Monday morning,” Elaine concludes.
