Red Bull OOH Takes Over Parking Lot

The 2015 OBIE awards, hosted by the Outdoor Advertising Association of America, celebrated simple advertising strategies that stirred up genuine feelings in its audience. “These winning campaigns need no explanation,” as the awards website put it.

The Red Bull Air Race World Championship's “Vertical Loop” ad, agented by Kastner & Partners, was a mega-billboard that took over the side of a building and its parking lot, mimicking a runway after a plane has taken off. The ad won a gold award in the category of Individual Execution – Billboard.
