Eastman Kodak Company has introduced two new media for UV printing: Kodak Professional UV-Curable Display Film and Kodak Professional UV-Curable Display Paper.
The new media are designed to bring the look and feel of photo-grade printing to UV-curable inkjet media, says Kodak, and the company reports that the media is compatible with most UV inkjet wide-format machines (at press time, Kodak had completed testing on Durst Rho, HP Turbojet, and EFI Vutek printers).
UV-Curable Display Film features a clear 7-mil Estar (polyester) base coated with a translucent diffuser layer on one side, and, when printed, produces display transparencies with the look of photographic display film. It can be used indoor and outdoor (with laminate). Available in 40-, 54-, 62-, and 72.5-in.-wide rolls.
UV-Curable Display Paper is a 220 g/m2, 8.5-mil paper that is engineered to be durable, defect free, and consistent from roll to roll. It’s designed to provide the look and feel of Kodak’s Professional Endura Photographic Paper. Available in 51-, 62-, and 72.5-in.-wide rolls.
UV-Curable Display Paper is available as of February 2010; the UV-Curable Display Film will be available in April.
