HP SmartStream Designer 4.0 for Variable Data

HP has announced SmartStream Designer 4.0, a software solution that works with Adobe InDesign to extend variable-data printing (VDP) capabilities to a range of large-format applications.

HP SmartStream Designer 4.0 streamlines prepress processes and helps print providers create, integrate, and preview versioned jobs with any combination of fixed data, variable text, and image elements. It’s also an easy-to-use impositioning tool for HP large-format printers, whether the job includes versioning or not, HP reports.

Key features include: step and repeat; multiple layout imposition; personalized images using variable content with Photoshop; connectivity to third-party VDP tools; ability to import and impose PDF jobs; integration of third-party personalized images; and more.
