General Formulations Promotes New Purchasing & Production VP

General Formulations (Sparta, MI) has appointed Dan Collins to vice president of purchasing & production, according to a press release.

With a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance from Grand Valley State University and an MBA from the University of Michigan’s Ross School of Business, Collins has more than 20 years of experience in operations, manufacturing and multi-channel distribution with P&L ownership. He started out in sales and marketing but discovered a passion for customer satisfaction after securing his first major client, which shifted his focus to production, the release states. He joined General Formulations in Nov. 2023 as finishing plant manager.

Collins has managed the opening of an Amazon fulfillment center spanning millions of square feet, where his team achieved a record-breaking inbound and outbound package handling volume within a day. He has led teams of up to 800 employees and successfully operated his own business, Eagle Auto Parts, specializing in vehicle recycling.
