With the recent installation of a Vutek PressVu 180/600 EC printer that uses UV-curable inks, Enhance a Colour of Pleasantville, NY is now equipped to generate 8-color, 600-dpi images on virtually any rigid or flexible substrate”?from wooden planks to plastic bags. Enhance a Colour is the first company in the New York metropolitan area to have a Vutek PressVu.
Enhance a Colour began in 1986 as a graphics and prepress house and moved into large-format digital printing in 1993 with electrostatic and dye-sublimation technologies.
According to Kevin O'Connor, Enhance a Colour's Managing Director, the new PressVu is helping the company meet the demand for lower-cost, high-quality large-format digital printing and educate other markets such as fashion, retail and home furnishings about new opportunities for digitally customized products.
The PressVu complements Enhance a Colour's UltraVu 2360 SC solvent-system inkjet, which has been used to produce posters and display banners at Lincoln Center. Enhance a Colour also produced 10 x 60-ft. wall murals for the Bird House exhibit at the Bronx Zoo plus environmental graphics for the Zoo's Congo Exhibit. The Congo-exhibit graphics provided a backdrop depicting the natural habitat of mountain gorillas.
Enhance a Colour employs more than 20 people at its Pleasantville, NY facility and also provides design, digital photography, photo retouching, film output, and color proofing services.
