EFI has released a free application programming interface (API) for Fiery users. Fiery API will allow PSPs to integrate digital workflow with existing IT framework in order to share data and eliminate job-prep processes. The interface features interactivity with Fiery servers from users’ own platforms, including Windows, Mac, iOS, and Android; and the program’s architecture allows developers to write commands with simple HTTP methods, according to the company. Applications connected through the API will be able to incorporate data from the Fiery server, such as the number of sheets and media size and type. Integrated applications can also control job submissions, job action, and print queue management, as well as retrieve live status of the , printer consumables, and processed jobs with raster image previewing.
