Canada School Publicizes Its Special Eduational Approach With Unique Lenticular Display

Gilmore Reproductions highlights academic and athletic excellence with wide-format lenticular print.

MANY SCHOOLS ACROSS North America have a renewed mission to mold young minds into future leaders. Students have more options than ever when it comes to extracurricular, academic, and athletic programs to explore. With libraries, computer facilities, science laboratories, theaters, gymnasiums, music/band rooms, and practical arts facilities, the Canadian Louis-Riel Public Secondary School prides itself on offering students “meaningful and engaging experiences that foster personal, academic, and social growth.”

Ottawa, Canada-based Gilmore Reproductions recently helped the school tell its story. “We were approached by the school to promote that they are an academic school with a strong influence in sports,” says John Schingh, sales manager for Gilmore Reproductions. The school envisioned an enormous lenticular display highlighting its many academic and athletic programs students can enjoy and explore.

Louis-Riel Public Secondary School supplied the shop with 33 pieces of aluminum that were 4 inches wide, 12 inches deep, and 20 feet long. Gilmore Reproductions imaged 3M Controltac Graphic Film IJ180 with their EFI printer, finishing with 3M overlaminate. The shop applied the graphics to both sides of the aluminum panels to create a fun optical effect. “If you were standing to the left of the structure, you would only see the sports inspired image, and if you were standing to the right, you would only see the academic image,” explains Schingh. “When standing directly in front of the structure, you would see nothing.”
