X Rite's MonacoOPTIX Monitor Calibration System

Last July, color-instrumentation specialist X-Rite acquired Monaco Systems, developers of color-management software. The first fruit of this acquisition is MonacoOPTIX^XR, a monitor calibration system combining X-Rite's new colorimeter with Monaco's profiling software so that users can quickly and accurately calibrate their monitors.

The MonacoOPTIX^XR system allows users to profile all displays/monitors, set the white point, adjust the brightness and contrast, and establish a profiling schedule for workgroups. It can be used with either a Mac OS x or Windows 98/2000/ME/XP systems.

The system comes in two editions: MonacoOPTIXXR is designed for photographers, graphic artists, and creative professionals. It includes Monaco's software and the MonacoOPTIXXR colorimeter and is priced at $299. MonacoOPTIX^XR Pro is a professional package for workgroups. It contains the MonacoOPTIXXR colorimeter as well as the Monaco's advanced profiling software with workgroup support and expert controls for the highest quality profiles.
