X-Rite Adds Locations for Fundamentals of Color and Appearance Seminars

X-Rite has nearly doubled the locations this spring where it will be offering its Fundamentals of Color and Appearance (FOCA) one-day seminar that instructs on how to evaluate and approve colors. The seminars are geared toward pre-media and digital pressroom personnel as well as manufacturing specifiers, quality-control and assurance professionals, lab technicians, parts suppliers, and others.

“We've added six stops in our seminar series compared with spring last year due to heightened demand from companies that want their teams to get a strong foundation in color and learn best practices of color measurement,” says Murphy Keeley, vice president of X-Rite Color Services. “Our 2011 spring tour will include updated information on the latest developments in color-measurement technology.”

Taught by X-Rite color experts, this industry-leading seminar was created to provide practical information applicable to all industries dealing with color in easy-to-understand terms. X-Rite color experts first give attendees a solid foundation in the basics of color and appearance, and then provide instruction on how to measure, view and understand color data. The course requires no prior color training and will address color control for a variety of industries, including graphic arts and packaging (and their related industries in plastics, coatings, and textile manufacturing), plus retail and apparel brands, business and consumer electronics, and automotive.

The places and dates of the FOCA seminars are:
• Charlotte: March 1
• New York: March 7
• Las Vegas: March 18
• San Francisco: March 24
• Portland: March 29
• Baltimore: April 5
• Cincinnati: April 14
• Nashville: April 19
• Houston: May 3
• St. Louis: May 12
• Denver: May 23
• New Orleans: June 7
• Vancouver: June 23

Cost of the course: $595 (for a limited time, attendees can save 10 percent by using the coupon code FOCA11 when registering). Each attendee receives an X-Rite Munsell Interactive Learning Kit and X-Rite’s Fundamentals of Color and Appearance book, plus a $250 voucher toward purchase of an X-Rite product (minimum order value of $2500); each location will also have a drawing at the end of the day for free quality assurance software ($3200 retail value).
