Wasatch's Precision Rosette Screens Now in Higher Line Frequencies

Many screenprinters are using low-cost inkjet printers to produce their own color separations and film positives. Wasatch, developer of the Wasatch Precision Rosette Screens (WPRS) and SOftRIP SP for screen printers, has created a new set of moire-free halftone screens to produce consistent center-filled rosettes across the full width of wide-format digital printers.

The initial version of SoftRIP SP contained hundreds of WPRS in line frequencies from 35 to 85 lpi (lines per inch). The new series of WPRS screen sets contain line screens up to 150 lpi. Forty new WPRS sets range from 95 to 150 lpi and offer a choice of screen angles and round or elliptic dot shapes.

The set of CD-ROMs with the higher resolutions is free for any Wasatch SoftRIP SP user covered by a current 90-day service agreement. The new screens will become standard in SoftRIP SP. Users of SoftRIP 4.5 (and later) can upgrade for $500, while customers with SoftRIP 4.4 or earlier pay $799.
