Vio's free, educational booklet “Process Automation in Printing and Publishing” provides an overview of JDF-based standards being use to automate print-production processes.
Written by James Harvey, Executive Director of the CIP4 graphics-industry consortium, the publication explains the challenges and benefits associated with implementing JDF-based solutions.
JDF (Job Definition Format) is an XML-based specification for automating processes in the printing and publishing industries. The JDF specification provides a model for organizing and exchanging job information among JDF-enabled devices. It can reduce wasted effort by eliminating the need to re-enter data.
“This booklet offers valuable insights into solving the workflow automation and integration problems that we face on a day-to-day basis,” says Alan Darling, executive vice-president at Vio. “Process Automation in Printing & Publishing” can be downloaded free from www.vio.com/whitepapers_index.html.
