This Finger-Licking Cheez-It Signage Is Giving Us the Munchies

With respect to the World’s Largest Chest of Drawers, it’s hard to find roadside attractions in the USA that are more unexpected than this one from a famous snack brand.

Convenience food maker Kellogg’s recently staged a pop-up shop in California dedicated exclusively to its Cheez-It crackers, and there was no skimping on the sign design.

Resembling an old-fashioned filling station, the “Cheez-It Stop” showcased a triangular sign above the canopy structure depicting the cracker and proclaiming the shop’s location in the Mojave Desert town of Joshua Tree. A fuel pump – equipped to shoot bags of Cheez-Its into cars’ windows – is adorned with brand visuals, while an oversized, cowboy-style mascot towers in the background.

The inside of the store evoked an old roadside gift shop and was stocked with mementos (Cheez-It-themed license plates, post cards, flip-flops, etc.) and hard-to-find Cheez-It flavors.

Located 128 miles from Los Angeles and 168 miles from San Diego, the shop opened June 5 and operated through June 11. Signs of the Times editors salute all of the Cheez-It and snack signage buffs who made the trek.
