Tekgraf's Inkjet Proofing Systems Span Range of Requirements

Tekgraf, a long-time distributor of wide-format inkjet printers and systems, has branched out into the graphic-arts market. The company now offers a range of inkjet proofing options, including a dual-sided inkjet proofing solution that can produce folded job mock-ups.

The TekProofScreen series of systems combine Best ScreenProof software with the Epson Stylus Pro 10000 wide-format inkjet printer to provide prints from original screened data.

The TekProofPro series integrates the Epson Stylus Pro 10000 with dye ink and Best ColorProof XXL software to provide an affordable digital proofing solution that produces color-accurate and repeatable proofs.

The TekProof600 series proofing systems combine Epson Stylus Pro 7600 and 9600 inkjet printers, Epson's 7-color UltraChrome pigmented ink set, and Best ColorProof software for proofing environments the use both color and black-and-white photography.

The TDS DoubleProof automated dual-sided imposition and single-sided color proofing system is built around a Hewlett-Packard Designjet 5000 wide-format inkjet printer equipped with a device that automatically reloads imposed and printed sheets for printing on the reverse side.

The 42-in. wide printer, which is optimized for use with DuPont's Digital Dylux certified media, can output four to five B1-sized doubled-sided proofs per hours. This means that in an hour, the printer can output the imposed pages from a 64-page publication. These pages can then be folded in dummies, enabling clients to check all page elements on a one-off “preview” of what the final publication will look like. The TDS DoubleProof features automatic pairing of front/back flats and automatic back-up of impositions and can handle Work and Turn, Work and Tumble, Perfector, Sheetwork, or single-production jobs.

TDS VersoProof is a rebranded version of a system developed by Troika in Europe. VersoProof's software interface can be used to convert an Epson 10000 or Epson 9600 wide-format inkjet printer into a double-sided imposition proofer.

The prices of all of Tekgraf's TekProof systems include integration and training services designed to reduce ROI time. Services include hardware set-up, software integration, baseline and printer linearizations, media profiling, reference profiling, and customized training on how to create profiles for other types of media. Customers also have access to Tekgraf's tech-support Call Center. (Tekgraf: 888-550-8543; www.tekgraf.com)
