Tekgraf and Mimaki USA are finalizing the details of an agreement in which Tekgraf will provide U.S. distribution of Mimaki printers. The initial focus will be on national distribution of Mimaki's JV3 series of solvent-system inkjet printers for the sign and display market”?including the recently announced 98-in. “baby-grand” model which lists for under $50,000 and the 60-in. unit which sells for $29,000. Both printers can either be used to quickly output 300 dpi, 4-color prints for short-term, long-distance-viewed outdoor graphics or 720 dpi, 6-color prints for more closely viewed indoor graphics.
Sy Simoneu, VP of Mimaki USA says the versatile JV3 features newly developed, reliable, solvent inks that can print directly onto non-coated PVC substrates and provide up to three years of UV resistance without lamination.
Tekgraf president and CEO Scott Barker believes that “The relationship between Mimaki, Tekgraf, and dealers would create a powerful three-way partnership that would provide customers the best sales, service, and support as the indoor and outdoor sign and display markets grow.” Tekgraf provides a full range of professional services, including product demos, training and installation, color certification and call-center support.
