SwissQprint Karibu RTR Printer

SwissQprint has launched Karibu, the company’s first roll-to-roll printer. The UV inkjet press has a max. print width of 11 ft and prints at speeds up to 2282 sq ft/hr. Features include a dual-roll option; mesh kit integrated with the print bed enabling users to switch the print beam from standard position to mesh position via computer command; a light box by the printing area allowing for on-the-spot inspection of backlit prints; Tip Switch vacuum, with 136 adjustable vacuum channels across the width of the bed, said to eliminate air leakage; and beacon-like status indicators on the print beam for monitoring from afar. NVC-free and Greenguard Gold-certified CMYKcmk + white + varnish Karibu inks have a flexible cured layer for use with various roll media, the company reports.
