Scitex Vision's new XL200 Supreme solvent-based ink for its XLjet series of grand-format inkjet printers is formulated to enhance the placement of ink dots. According to Scitex Vision, the ink's EDT (Expanding Dot Technology) increases the surface coverage of every dot to improve image quality and reduce the number of passes required to achieve better image quality.
Scitex Vision also has XLjet software to allow operators to better match print resolutions to the substrate and application requirements in the production mode. In conjunction with the bundled Onyx PosterShop print-management software, the XLjet software now includes a “Text Boundary Refine” feature for sharper text.
The Scitex XLjet is availabe in 2-, 3- and 5-meter widths and switches easily between four- and six-color printing modes. It can handle multiple rolls simultaneously.
Scitex Vision and Avery Dennison: Scitex Vision and Avery Dennison Graphics Division have also announced plans to develop a set of VisionMedia-branded substrates manufactured by Avery for use on Scitex Vision's printing systems. (Scitex Vision: www.scitexvision.com)
