At China Print in Beijing, Scitex Vision launched its XLjet Premium super-wide line of printers.
Based on the company's XLjet series, the Premium printer is available in 2.2, 3.2, and 5m widths and features higher-frequency printheads than its predecessor. It can switch between 4, 6, and 8-color production, and offers speeds of 645 sq ft/hr in high-quality mode, and speeds of 1333 sq ft/hr in draft mode. Plus, the print engine features a rearrangement of colors, allowing for a wider gamut of colors and better split curves, reports Scitex Vision.
Other new aspects include a Load File While Saving feature, multi-roll printing, and optional free-fall output. Its dedicated Onyx PosterShop RIP provides new screening and dedicated resolution settings.
The XLjet Premium uses Visionink XL300 Supreme inks. These new solvent-based pigment inks were especially developed for this line of printers.
The company also announced that it will sponsor an open house at Digital POP Solutions LLC (DigiPOPs), a short-run printer based in Bellwood, IL. The event will take place May 24-25. The event will feature live demonstrations of the company's CORjet press and related digital workflow. “We will also be showing a wide range of the products that can be produced on the Scitex Vision XLjet, VEEjet, TurboJet, and GOjet,” says David Bartram, Scitex Vision's marketing manager, “including a building wrap and vehicle graphics.” (Scitex Vision: www.scitexvision.com)
